MIXOLOGY™ Debuts Surround Effects Volume 01

Seattle MIXOLOGY introduces the first volume in a series of surround sound effects designed for the professional sound designer working in a modern digital post-production environment. The MIXOLOGY Surround Effects library features custom recorded ambient sounds in true multi-channel 24 bit/48kHz .WAV and 16 bit/48kHz SDII file formats compatible with the vast majority of professional editing software. This royalty-free BUYOUT library set comes on a DVD-ROM and an audio CD with all sounds labeled and mapped for use in productions ranging from mono and stereo through 5.1, 6.1, and 7.1. ProTools© users will find pre-constructed surround tracks which can be directly imported into an existing session (and even snapped directly to time code) in the following configurations:

Ambiences include: Various crowds, traffic, residential light rain, auto interior, coffee shop, helicopter, seaplane, ocean, children, industrial, and many, many more.

According to company president Glenn Lorbiecki, "We're excited to introduce this collection, as this is the first SFX library to exclusively feature surround ambiences. Most editors have found that surround ambiences are too time consuming to build using existing stereo SFX, reverbs, and delays, and the result never quite puts you 'in that space'. In response to our own clients' desire for high quality surround environments we began recording ambiences a few years ago using a proprietary microphone array and portable mic pre / digital I/O that we designed specifically for this application. The sounds you hear are the result of our accumulated experience in this field."

Sound designer and recordist Eric Oz leads the team of engineers capturing sounds in the field and relates, "After building the mic array, the first place we headed was the skateboard park. The sounds of the skaters flying all around was outrageous! When we got it back to the studio and put it up on the monitors, we all knew instantly that we had it right."

The MIXOLOGY Surround Effects volume 01 package is available on DVD-ROM and redbook audio CD, including all setup documentation and license information. Contact: Glenn Sound, Inc. 228 Dexter North, Seattle WA 98109. 206 583 8112 voice, 206 583 0930 fax, or visit www.MIXOLOGY.biz.
